Hey all you trade show enthusiasts! We just read a great article over at the Exhibitor News Network on the winner of this year's Best in Show Award at the Exhibitor conference, which is an annual gathering of trade show marketers, advertisers, industry promoters. This year, the award, which is given to one of many trade show booths at the event that is deemed to have the greatest impact at the conference, was given to the marketing firm Derse.
Derse's winning marketing campaign was based around the slogan "Step Outside Your Comfort Zone" and impressed judges for both its innovative way of approaching the marketing industry and its originality. The campaign was meant to point out the often mundane and washed up marketing strategies used by companies at trade show events. It targeted the use of boring trade show displays, cliche ad slogans, and dull event booths.
With the competition at trade shows today, Derse representatives argued, it is vital that companies look outside of their trusted comfort zone for new ideas that will attract potential consumers and industry members. This might mean revamping trade show displays, hiring new blood, or brainstorming to come up with fresh promotional ideas.
